Dr. Matthew J. Martin
Optometrist
Dr. Matthew Martin prides himself on providing comprehensive, leading-edge eye care in a family-friendly environment. Dr. Martin has a passion for helping people. His thorough, relaxed chair-side manner sets Dr. Martin apart from many of his colleagues.
Dr. Martin has been serving the Mid-Michigan area for 20 years providing comprehensive care, managing ocular disease, and specialty contact lens designs. He specializes in pediatric eye care and myopia control.
After graduating with honors in Pre-Optometry from Ferris State University, Dr. Martin attended the Michigan College of Optometry graduating with honors in 1999. Dr. Martin has continued to be a leader in his field, blessed with a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn, Dr. Martin has continued his education and continued to fight the global disease of myopia.
Dr. Martin has been a Fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control since 2003 and is a retired board member for the prestigious organization. He has a passion for educating and has served as a mentor for many doctors new to myopia control. In 2017 he was asked to present at VBD’s Bootcamp for Newcomers. Based on his engaging speaking style, he was invited to become a permanent member of the Bootcamp team.
Since that time Dr. Martin has been invited to speak at a number of national and international educational events such as the Global Specialty Lens Symposium, and at Vision By Design Vietnam in 2018. In 2019 Dr. Martin will be speaking in Mumbai India at the BIPOK Vision By Design India meeting. He came to the notice of the Board when he joined the IAOMC Fellowship Committee. He was an active participant helping to revise FIAOMC policy, protocols and exams.
